Job description
Job title: Head of partnerships, City Football Foundation 
Organisation: City Football Group (owners of New York City, Melbourne City, and Manchester City FC)

Job purpose
This is a global role offering the chance to create innovative and industry leading CSR partnerships for one of the most ambitious organisations in world football. The key purpose is to help the City Football Foundation grow its revenue and impact, by acquiring new partners, funders and corporate sponsors. The post is housed within the City Football Group’s (CFG’s) Foundation department, reporting to the City Football Foundation director.

About CFF
Harnessing the power and reach of CFG’s international network of Clubs, The City Football Foundation (CFF) transmits the group brand vision of empowering better lives through football, by delivering best practice football CSR locally and internationally. CFF uses football to impact five key issues for over 80000 urban youth annually: health, education, employability, inclusion and crime prevention. It co-ordinates and oversees three connected programmes to this end:

  1. City in the Community (CITC): award winning community football outreach delivered by CITC charities in New York, Melbourne and Manchester, in affiliation with New York City, Melbourne City and Manchester City FC
  2. Cityzens Giving: a global fan led fund supporting youth led charity football projects worldwide
  3. Global learning network: connecting CFF programmes to share innovation, and training a new generation of community football leaders. More info can be found here


Key responsibilities

  1. Help CFF grow its revenue and impact through the acquisition of new partners and sponsors:
  • Work with the commercial partnership teams to upsell CFF to existing sponsors
  • Develop creative new CFF sponsorships and partnerships with brand aligned businesses
  • Help commercial partnerships team effectively integrate CFF into broader CFG sales pitches

 

  1. Work with commercial partnership teams to help CFF manage its growing network of corporate sponsors, to include:
  • Developing creative activations (e.g. employee/customer engagements; product donations)
  • Measuring and communicating the social and commercial impact of those activations

 

  1. Enhance CFF profile and positioning with potential funders
  • Attend relevant match days
  • Work with communications team to develop relationships with high net worth networks, identify relevant conferences and events to attend/speak at, and create CFF networking events/showcases

 

  1. Develop CFF marketing content
  • Work with in-house design team to develop compelling CFF slide decks and materials
  • Work with in-house research team and CFF head of programmes to measure and communicate the social and business impact of CFF


General responsibilities

  • Compliance with club policies
  • Compliance with the club’s health and safety procedures
  • To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected
  • To maintain professional conduct at all times
