Scholarship opportunities for the 2017 AISTS MA in Sports Administration.
AISTS was founded in 2000 by the International Olympic Committee and leading Swiss institutions and universities. It is a not-for-profit foundation committed to professionalising sports management through continuing education, applied research and an engaging platform for industry connections.
The AISTS’s flagship programme is the 14-month postgraduate Master of Sports Administration (MSA) – educating aspiring sport managers from all over the world since 2003. Each year, the AISTS brings together over 140 international sports experts in the sciences of management, technology, law, medicine, and sociology – all in the efforts of building a better world through sport.
Returning for the fifth straight year, the AISTS Athlete scholarship aims at encouraging athletes in their post-sport or dual career. To be eligible for the award, athletes must have previously competed, or are currently competing at a professional and international level.
Signalling the AISTS’s commitment to progressing women in leadership roles, it will be the second time the AISTS Future Female Leader in Sport scholarship will be offered.
The inaugural scholarship was recently awarded to Commonwealth Games silver medallist, Otonye Iworima, from Nigeria. Previous recipients of the AISTS Athlete scholarship include former captain of Ireland’s women’s hockey team, Nikki Symmons, Nigerian Olympic gold medallist for the 4 x 100m relay in Sydney, Enee Udo-Obong and German Olympic windsurfer, Toni Wilhelm. The most recent recipient is two-time US national swim champion, Christine Jennings.
Each scholarship is valued at 14,000CHF, representing half the programme tuition fee.
